Becoming a doula happened quite by accident for me! After supporting my friend through her thirty-two hour labor and coming home more thrilled then tired, I knew I had found something I loved. Since that day several years ago, I have become a DONA trained and certified birth doula. I have supported many birthing mothers and their partners through this miraculous, empowering, transformative, unpredictable and unique event! Our relationship begins with pre-natal visits where I provide information and resources, talk about your birth plan, give comfort measures and emphasize the importance of the mother being mothered during the fourth trimester.

As your doula and advocate I am available to you for any physical, emotional and informational support you may need. When labor begins I am available to you whenever you feel you need my support. During labor and birth my job is to make you as comfortable as possible and to reassure your partner. I stay with you continuously until after the baby is born and nursing. A post-partum visit with your new family completes my services as a birth doula.
